Laguiole knife with Damascus blade: What is a Damascus blade?  The knife that makes you dream: it undergoes many stages in its manufacture to achieve an optimum result with a unique architecture: Damascus steel is an alloy formed by several layers of steel and carbon cast hot in a furnace at more than 1000°. These are forged together before being flattened and flattened and struck over and over while being hot twisted to multiply the designs that carbon steel blends make.
